Deposits & final payments

In order to secure your cake, a 30% non-refundable deposit will be required. Without a deposit, I will not hold your date. Priorities will be given to paying customers. Please note quotes are only valid for a period of 72 hours. After this time, other orders may have been confirmed and the quote may need to be reviewed. Final payment (excluding wedding cake) will be required on the day of collection. For wedding cakes, the final balance will be required 4 weeks prior to the wedding or event. Orders placed less than 4 weeks, require full payment at the time of booking.


In the event of a cancellation;

  • All requests for cancellations must be made in writing by letter or email.
  • Requests for cancellations must be made no later than 4 weeks prior to delivery / collection date.
  • The 30% deposit will NOT be refunded.
  • Any cancellations made up to 7 days before collection, will require full payment.

Delivery & Collections

If you chose to collect your cake from the studio and transport it yourself, I am NOT liable or responsible for the cake once it has left the studio. I do everything in my power to provide a well-structured cake, but please note that cakes are very fragile and break easily. DRIVE CAREFULLY AND SLOWLY. I offer a full delivery service for wedding cakes at an extra cost (please enquire for more details).


Cakes by walshy is not responsible for any damages to the cake after set up is complete. You are responsible for providing an appropriate, secure table and environment for the cake. Cakes require a sturdy table and stand. We are not responsible for damages due to temperature or weather. Optimal room temperature is 23°C or below.

Stand Hire

I have a full range of cake/cupcake stands for hire. All stand hire will require a cash refundable deposit, which you will receive once the stand has been returned in its original condition. All stands must be returned no later than 1 week after the event.

Alterations to design

Any requests for alterations for your order must be made no later than 2 weeks prior to your delivery date. Changes requested after this date cannot be guaranteed and may incur additional charges. No changes can be made to the invoice less than 2 weeks prior to delivery date. Please note certain creative changes may be made to your final design for the sake of stability, structural integrity or other certain emergencies.


Please inform me of any allergies or dietary requirements prior to placing your order. Please be aware that the cakes may contain some of the following Allergens: - cereals containing gluten, crustaceans, eggs, fish, peanuts, soya beans, milk, nuts, celery, mustard, sesame, sulphites, lupine, molluscs.

Non-Edible Items

Please not that some cakes may contain non-edible elements. For instance, stacked/tiered wedding cakes will have food safe plastic dowels in to support the tiers. These should be removed when the cake has been cut, prior to consumption. You will be made aware of any other non-edible elements upon delivery or collection.
